The fox, the bird & the cheese

Out of the blue, Widget drew this picture and then told a story about it, one I had read to her probably six months ago! Her words are below. ~ Widget’s mama

Once upon a time, there was a bird. She was sitting on a tree branch. And there was a fox underneath her branch. And she had a piece of cheese in her mouth. And the fox wanted the cheese.

So the fox said, “I like your song so can you sing one for me?”

So the birdie sang the song. And when she sang, the cheese fell out of her mouth. And the fox mouth was wide open. And then the cheese fell into the fox’s mouth.

The end!

Moral of the story: Always read to your kids. They’re listening and remembering!
